Transfer Student Success

Your college experience begins with a strong foundation, and we are here to help you make your first year as a transfer student a successful one! To start, play UCI: Level-Up for Transfer Students, which navigates you through your transition to UCI and can help you identify the opportunities that are immediately available to you as a transfer student at UCI – from learning about academic support to engaging with campus centers to meeting fellow Anteaters.

Visit the Transfer Student Center

Whether you’re transferring from a California community college or from any other institution, the Transfer Student Center can be a great resource for you. The TSC team can help guide you throughout your first year and beyond in order to make your transition and experience as successful as possible.

Just getting started? Start with UCI’s Transfer Checklist and be sure to look out for an email midsummer with information about registering for classes and your academic advising session.

Did you know?

Nearly one-third of UCI’s student population have transferred from a community college or another institution.

TSPOP and Transfer B.O.O.S.T.

All undergraduate transfer students are required to participate in the Transfer Student Parent Orientation Program (TSPOP) at UCI. You can participate in TSPOP on campus with other UCI transfer students or engage with the TSPOP online content through UCI’s Teaching and Learning course management application, CANVAS.

Through TSPOP, you will learn about campus resources, complete important tasks, and hear from UCI faculty. Once you’ve made your T-SPOP reservation, you will receive more information on how to participate through email.

Transfer students can also take advantage of Transfer B.O.O.S.T. (Beginnings and Open Opportunities for Successful Transfers), which is a series of workshops, meaningful conversations, and community building activities offered through the TSC both on-campus and online during the summer.

Reminder

Don’t forget that transfer students must meet the UCI Change of Major Criteria if wanting to switch their majors.
